How are you creating music?

Sometimes I'm wondering about the speed new projects are made at v-band.de.

In the rush of the day, share with us how you're creating music, from the basic idea till the upload. Are you satisfied with the tools you use? Is it easy enough for you to create a new project? What are you thinking while creating your project?

Leave your comment right here! I'm very interested.

I'm no musician, that's why I couldn't share much about you where asking for.

But this might be the right place to say that I love visiting v-band and listen to the songs.

Hi Alex,

I am a busy guy... I have a job that I have to drive everywhere all day... I get up in the AM and try to do a little editing, or listening, then I go to work... I come home late, then try to do some drum machine programming, or disk cleanup, file management, and sometimes some quick punch-in recording... On the weekends I do recording of whole parts, major editing, song creation...etc... I have a lot of old songs that I am re-doing, but sometimes I will make a mistake while practicing to a Judas Priest(?) song, and then go off somewhere else, and it becomes something totally different... Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with a song idea, and I will record it... Time only tells if it was a dream or a nightmare... hehe...

Are you satisfied with the tools you use?
Digital Orchestrator Plus DAW - very simple, easy to use, no plug-ins, no good effects (So, I use POD Line-6 guitar), no stereo record, but good results...

Is it easy enough for you to create a new project?
Yes, I have everything I need in my home, without being disturbed...

What are you thinking while creating your project?
I can only create with an empty mind... No worries, or I can't feel the song flow... I have to be happy or nuetral, never angry...

Q1: Are you satisfied with the tools you use?
A1: Generally yes, my outboard gear is excellent “see it here” http://members.soundclick.com/solaire98198
I have a iso 12” celestion cab for my THD Univalve Amp, miked with a AKG C-300B run through a Focusrite “mic-pre”. I also use a Roland VG-88 ver2 modeler and a Roland GR-33 Guitar Synth, as well as a Radial Tonebone Hot British distortion and a Line 6 POD ver2, all A/B’d as needed. Other tools include, Roland XV-5050 rackmount synth, and a Yamaha QY-100 sequencer. I use a M-Audio omni I/O breakout box, and Cubase VST 5.2 DAW, along with Digital Orchestrator Plus DAW. My main mixdown plug-ins are M-Audio Izotope3 and Steinberg Wavelab 5.2, along with T.C. Electronics bundles.

Q2: Is it easy enough for you to create a new project?
A2: Never! I have to think and plan. Also, I have to write the drumtrack first. I use Drums on Demand Real Drum Tracks. I edit and write Drums in SoundForge. Then come up with some structure guitars/bass/synths etc. Then I bounce rough ideas off of Luke, until we come up with a satisfactory basic track.

Q3: What are you thinking while creating your project?
A3: I am hoping my Ideas/Mix/Structure/Playing etc. will inspire Luke to come up with an excellent Vox Track. We haven’t failed yet, and I hope we never do.
